The "Traveling Hobos"
Shadow, a self-proclaimed "traveling hobo," is traveling to his old foster home in North Carolina that he has not seen in over 20 years. Originally from Ohio, he left home when he was 16 and moved through several foster homes before ultimately ending up homeless.
He hopes to find his foster dad in North Carolina - the only foster father of his that he calls "dad" - still alive. The two have not spoken for two decades.
Shadow and his "Road Dog," Wolfie, have crept their way across the United States from Durango, Colorado, and through the Texas Panhandle to find themselves in Denton, Texas -- about halfway to their destination.
