A multimedia journalist in pursuit of two bachelor's degrees in digital/print journalism and political science at the University of North Texas, John Forbes is a young, passionate and ambitious journalist ready to cover the world.

John's reporting covers multiple beats including the environment, education/higher education, business and more - some picked up by state-wide and national publications such as the Dallas Morning News, Texas Tribune and the Chronicle of Higher Education.

In his work he has assumed roles as a reporting fellow with the Fort Worth Report, a freelance reporter for the South Bend Tribune and the news editor for the North Texas Daily where he led a team of 10-15 student journalists.

John also has extensive experience in photography, and prides himself on capturing eye-catching and emotionally captivating images that encapsulate and seamlessly pair with its article's topic. As part of his practice, he is also developing videography skills to help his storytelling and reporting skills.
